View Full Version : My first car!
Just got myself an R reg Corsa 1.2. My first car :D!
Paid £2000 from a dealers and got a years warranty thrown in. Only 31,000 miles on it - methinks it was a good deal - what do you lot think?
Stupid insurance costs £1200 - crazy money :(.
Sounds like you've got yourself a nice little motor :) Well done!

Don't remind me about insurance on modded Corsa's!!
My youngest son... who's just 18, and a mechanic by trade... stuck a 2ltr Astra GTE engine in his Corsa  Even on my insurance, he pays an absolute fortune

So far I've bought both of my cars from dealers. I found it its worth paying a tiny bit extra in some cases, as you usually do get warrenty and they do check out the car before the sell it again. And you can haggle as to what extras you get thrown in - what did you get!?
I managed - full tank of fuel, tax, 3yr warrenty, free MOTs for life, few bits more!
Good deal you got by the sounds of it though :)
Creepys idea about a 2l astra engine sounds interesting!
hmm i got a corsa 1.2 today, first car not insured yet im getting insurace quotes of around 1800? how the hell did u get 1200 ?!!?

Congrats on the new car georDIE! :)
I found that if you really shop around a bit you can get surprisingly good deals on car insurance. I found a company recently that specialises in new drivers, so once I remember what the URL is I'll post it
As Sharky says, Tesco are pretty reasonable.

CIS (http://www.cis.co.uk/servlet/Satellite?cid=1069672144680&pagename=CIS%2FPage%2FtplPageStandardCIS&c=Page) (Co-op) might also be worth a shot.
That's who I'm with... and who I insured my sons Corsa through ;)
/me whacks geordie over the head with a post pictures of the car or die stick. ^_^
