hey i might have a look man, last site i did was here (http://www.foreignretrieval.greatnow.com/) . Yeah, i know the music loops sux (had to limit filesize and crappy 1/2 second pauses were insterted), and the lines dont line up (crappy free sponser banner change sizes everytime you load the page!) but i think not bad for a first attempt :) Whaddya think? i guess yours would be a totally different format and stuff - PM me about it if you want, but i dont mind doing it for free, i could do with the practice :)
Flash is evil!!!
Are you considering search engine submissions for your site? If so consider dropping flash, its effectively a firewall to search bots.
yeah, as i found out after my project, for whole websites it can suck, but some elements combined with html pages can yield good results, and small, fast website intros can be quite nice as long as they're worthwhile
Even small flash can proove bad if your after search engine results
If your index.html page has just flash on it and the flash movie links to a page on your website then you've had it. Flash compiles the .fla files into .swf files.
Search engine bots scan through HTML code looking for links, they follow these links and do the same on the resulting pages. Thats how a site becomes indexed for search engines.
SWF files are loaded into the HTML page via a plugin and therefore the search engine bot just sees the html tag that loads the flash file, not the content of the movie meaning it cant see the links in the flash file.
