UInder your 'User CP' click 'edit options' - at the bottom of that page is your avatar setting.

Ok now i know how to do that but how do i upload a banner from my pc to the site /eg the same way i did with the avatar and not having to send a link ??

You mean for your sig? i didnt understand much of that. You can upload images to the server for your sig.
