Eh up chaps, got a bit of a SKY Digital issue going on and wondered if anyone has any ideas.
I have registered on the digitalspy forum to ask over there, but I have to wait 3 days before account is able to post, due to abuse problems they have had, so you good fellows are my first port of call.
I have a Toshiba 36ZP38 TV connected to a SKY Digibox (Regular PACE old style one). They are connected via both SCART (RGB) and RF Cable as is standard practice, but a strange thing keeps happening, and has happened ever since I got SKY Digi (5 years ago) but I have only just realised what is actually going on.
When I am watching SKY, I am watching it on EXT1 (Toshiba's AV Channel #1) which comes on automatically because of the SCART switching, but when I press the menu button to look at Box Office for instance, it seems to view this on Channel 6 through the RF (I have the SKY control set to the most common Toshiba code so I don't think it is this, as I have tried all the Tosh codes with the same result).
Now, this has always happened, but I have only just realised because I unplugged the RF cable when I was moving the TV etc around and forgot to plug it back in. I was watching TV as normal and went to check in the menu, the channel then changes to 6 (which it picked up as the SKY channel when it Auto-Tuned) and bluescreened because obviously there is no signal through the unplugged RF.
Now, if I press the AV channel button on the TV control and get back to EXT1 then the menu is there and I can use it no problem, but surely it shouldn't be happening!?!
So, my question is, does anyone elses do this, and if not, what the hell is going on because I can't stop it happening?
The TV is new, but the previous one was also a Toshiba, a 28W8DB, and I never really noticed this happening (but I have tested it and it is the same case) except for having to press the SKY button after checking the menu to get it to go back to the AV channel, but this doesn't work on the new TV, and I don't think I should need to do this anyway as it should show the menu on the AV channel.
Any help appreciated, and I know this is a bit of a badly worded post but it is quite difficult to explain it.
Cheers
