Hi All,
My Media Server is a bit long in the tooth so I'm building a new one from scratch, this time though I want to add PVR capabilities. This is the spec I am looking at:

Epia MII or M1000 (nememiah)
1 gb DDR ram
160 gb Seagate Barracuda HD (2.5 db)
Hauppage TV Card (PCI)

I want to use the machine to serve MP3's to my stereo, Divx to my TV, and to pause/record live TV on occasion. I don't need the ability to do these things simultaneously.

I've read that the M1000 should be up to the task, but what about the MII? The CPU is slower, but I would really like the fanless aspect of it. Also I could use the onboard PCMCIA slot to drop a wireless lan card onto it.

Comments? Will the CPU be up for it?

cheers,

Geoffrey

You can get a 1Gig M2... so exactly like the M10000 put with the extra PMCIA and compact flash slots...

There are fanless models of both the M and M2.

They are the 600mhz models.
