I am planning on building my 1st shuttle pc, parts are as follows:

SN45G AMD shuttle
AMD 3200xp 400 Mhz
2*512 pc3200 400Mhz - not sure on brand
ATI 9800 pro 128 meg
DVDRW + Floppy
120 gig maxtor 8mg cache 7200 rpm
Possibly a sound card

The RAM i was looking at crosshair but i seen generic RAM with good reviews for bout £80 cheaper. I was wandering if anybody had problems with memory types in a similar system.

I was also looking at getting the silent 250w PSU as im unsure of the 200w will handle the hardware. Silent PSU is just a bonus as im not to fussed about the noise.

How hot do these become inside and what facility is there for a small case fan or 2.

A single optical drive like the Sony DW-U14a is what i have been looking at, but im open to suggestions although not to dear.

I was also looking at getting a different colour case maybe black with some kind of side and/or top pannel. Does anyone know where i could get a front pannel as ive looked many places for them and none have been for this kind of shuttle. I will get a front cover for both floppy and dvdrw so the drive matches the case.

Whats the I.C.E heat pipe like with an AMD3200, not found anywhere that desribes how this works.

How good is the onboard sound? Would i be able to run my current creative 6700 speakers on it?

i have also read that some grafics cards dont fit in the shuttles and i want to know if this is true or not.

Im looking at some unbranded memory which would deffinitly help in me getting the other power supply as i said it saves me 80 quid. I am still wandering if anyone has had any problems with unbranded memory in these systems?

For the dvdrw i think i will prob go for a nec2500.

I take it the cabling is quite tidy in these or would it be a good idea to get some braiding?

Are there any known problems in sound, bios versions or drivers that are out?

I wont be overclocking this system.

well i think i wil need to try out the onboard sound myself then, although i am partial to getting out my headfones aswell. If it isnt sound to good then i can always swap over my audigy in this rig :)
