ok... in the bios settings for the shared memory, there are 2 options. here is what it was set to before

Frame Buffer Size - 32M
AGP Aperture Size - 64M

i have now increased the shared memory to 64M... question is, what is the AGP aperture size ?? should it be the same as what the memory is set to ? or higher ???

The guy over at the Omega drivers website recommends max'ing out the aperture size (and he should know what he's talking about!!!) :D

Various discussions all have slightly different answers and results, dont just take one persons word for it , get confused by lots of people :)

system has 512Mb

vga is using 64mb of it.. .which leave 448Mb RAM

aperture is currently at 64mb.

question is... what purposes does it actually have ? some results stats show that there doesn't seem to be much difference when set at different levels.. unless it is insanely low or insanely high

Usually setting it to max works well :).

Tbh, its one of those "features" that you dont need to worry about, as long as it aint set at its lowest setting or at a value above the amount of memory in your machine, you should be ok.
