Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone had thought of trying to homebrew a PC into an old Apple G4 Cube case (or one of the powerlogix cases). I've read a load of reviews of Via's Nemehiah motherboard (http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/product.php?view=5452) and figured it would make a great HTPC/Divx server for my living room.

I think the Cube would be a very cool addition to the living room, though as of now I am not sure how to go about it as the Cube cases I see for sale on Ebay come without an internal mounting rig for the motherboard (so I'd have to construct one and figure out how to attach it too the case).

My present HTPC (Shuttle SS50G) I am planning on converting into a desktop.

Any advice or ideas would be appreciated.

Geoffrey

I thought about thsi myself. The cube cases are quite hard to come by, but it is possible, the same with most other apple cases. You're probably best off getting some ideas from Gordy's Project Bad Apple (http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8030).

There are also a number of similar projects out there, i.e. ones which require custom mountings to be built.

Thanks for the article tip!

I would love to use the G4 cube, but I have to admit finding the enclosures is a bit of a chore. The cases themselves are everywhere, but I don't have a clue how to fashion an enclosure and attache it to the base.

The powerlogix case looks nice, but nowhere near as slick looking as a the Cube.
