Can anyone recommend a motherboard to suit an XP2500? Whats the latest/greatest motherboard out on the market?

cool cheers.. no plans to overclock (as I'm trying to build an almost silent pc for video work) but looks like a pretty good board.

I'll 2nd (& 3rd :)) the NF7-S V2.0!

edit: actually , if you are trying to build a silent system then you may be better off with an ASUS A7V8X DeLuxe.
The ABIT has an active northbridge cooler whilst the ASUS has a passive so 1 less fan to worry about.

I'd go with the Asus A7N8X Dlx but I guess it's down to personal preference (I have 2 of 'em):)

I've NF7-S and the fan on the N.B. is quite loud ;)
So if you just want a mobo to be quiet and good go for the Asus... sure things :D

cheers for the suggestions guys.. i've noticed the A7N8X series of boards also have a passive cooler, so i'm tempted to go for the Asus A7N8X Deluxe, although what is the Asus A7N8X-X about? Any differences worth noting?

Best place to check the specs is the Asus web site but basically it's a cut down version, it has only 1 network port and no SATA controller I think. There is also an enhanced version of the Deluxe that has a header on for WiFi support (save buying a wireless NIC). Depends on what features you want really, I think there are now 4 or 5 versions of this mobo:confused:

Single channel memory controller rather than dual, no firewire, no Soundstorm audio, no SATA RAID......
Get the DeLuxe ;)
