yeah but at 1.5 k well over 50 percent above ideal spending.
they are rebadged sagers and they arent cheap neither , dells come in at about the same price per spec.
I have seen acers at around 800 with 3.5 hr single battery time and radeon 9k not 9.6 that alien and dell use.Ah well need to sell a kidney and get the alienware I think ..... onboard tv as well can bet bad.

I'll warn you now, you're not going to get 1gb of ram for under 1k- 1gb is pretty rare on most lappys...

Multivision have a good one Ionix or summit. COmputer Buyer did a review and said it was excellent.
If you want a gaming laptop then you need one with an ATI Mobility 9600 built in gfx.
Available in 2 flavours 64mb or 128mb (ddr gfx ram)
I've got this one Solus 1030 (http://www.multivision.co.uk/showdet.php?id=189) from Multivision. I've got the express version with has ddr333 instead of ddr266.
Has everything you listed except the 1GB of ram and the extra battery.

looks like they are the people then , pretty good for more than 50 percent cheaper than alien and voodoo.
Hows this for a laptop, Athlon 64 3200+ processor, 512Mb RAM, 60Gb Hard Disk, Mobile Radeon 9600, 15.1" TFT with native res of 1,400 x 1,050, CD-RW/DVD combo drive and only £1399.00

None of the Voyagers are that price http://www.evesham.com/PCs/List.asp?e=33F4D6D3-5CD1-4380-A8A1-630D45604AD3 - especially not with an Athlon 64 3200+

So sue me :p
I was going by the price stated in the review I linked to, still even at £1,498.99 it's still pretty cheap.

I got an Amilo D with 2.53 desktop cpu, radeon 9000 64meg and a gig of ram, scores just under 6k on 3dmark2003, selling for £800 if your interested, as since becoming an IT admin have little time these days for games, seem to be stuck on servers and desktops all the bloody time

Well, I'm sorry, but you're wrong guy's, the Evesham PC is on their site for the qouted price here - http://www.evesham.com/PCs/Info.asp?e=97648B33-8CB9-471C-8323-6FB4558A1952
And if that is to much, then you might want to check out this Multivision that TR has looked at, since you where considering one earlier - http://www.trustedreviews.com/article.aspx?art=127&head=36
And it's even under your budget !!
As if that wasn't enough it's got a 9600 gfx card and some other stuff that you might like

Ahhh, that's because it's hiding under the 'review notebooks' section rather than being with the rest of them :p What I don't understand is why you have to pay £100 more for a laptop listed in the 'Voyager 64 Series' section that has exactly the same specification? Surely Evesham aren't dumb enough to have done a thing like this?

I think this (http://www.multivision.co.uk/showdet.php?id=174) is better than the AMD processor version as it would preform slightly better with the extra CPU power OR for an extra £150 this (http://www.multivision.co.uk/showdet.php?id=147) one as it as a dedicated P4-M because this will make your battery last longer :)

You've obviously got yer head too far inta that new WC gear o' yours m8! There's only £50 difference between the two (£949 against £899) :p
Just to throw a spanner in the works....
For your budget and requirements, how's about an Apple iBook running Yellow Dog Linux ??
It has everything you want, including the Radeon. The only thing I'm not sure of is max memory size. I have 384MB in mine but can't remember if the upper limit is 512MB or 1GB :( It also came with DVD/CD-RW.
Nicest thing is the battery life. Three hours for most PC types is unrealistic, but the Apple should fare much better.
As per my other replies in the Software topic I've been experimenting with various Linux's on my PC, but Yellow Dog on the Apple is probably as good if not better. Even dual boot. I was actually considering getting rid of Mac OSX as I prefer Linux, but opted for a dual-boot set up.
:)
Oh dear... Sorry... Sorry... Just realised the screen size of my recommenation isn't big enough! Duh!!
(Well unless you go for an expensive PowerBook instead)
Shame cos the iBooks start at £849, but at 12".
Sorry again chaps/chappesses.
