Sorry guys dont know s*it about pcs. How much does a graphics card have to do with playing dvds. Im building a pc and want to watch dvds at good quaility but im not using it for games. Will i still have to buy a good graphics card or can i go with one of the cheaper ones? (around £60 at the most)

if you have a fast enough processor you could actually get away with a plain old 2D video card costing £10 at the most.
Slarti's right you could just pick up a cheap old card to watch DVDs with. I was watching DVDs on my pc when i had a PII 350 with a Voodoo 2 and it was good enough quality. Check Ebay perhaps?
ATI Radeon 7000 for around £30, that's what I use in my HTPC, works very well ;)
Yeah, pretty much all cards made in the last 4/5 years have MPEG-II (DVD) support built-in.
I wonder if it's worth getting a dedicated MPEG-II card for better image quality? Any difference?
