I'm having a hard job trying to work out which set of temperature and voltage readings to believe on an Asus A7V600. Hardware monitor is reporting an idle temperature of 57 degrees (for an XP2500 at stock speeds this is rediculous) and before a restart was showing a CORE Voltage of 1.75v.

The BIOS is even more stupid, with the CPU supposedly running at 73 degrees, but it was repoting a VCORE of 1.62v.

My question is, which can I trust, or are all of them wrong?

Thanks a lot,

Michael.

They all sound a bit wonky to me.

I'd suggest installing MBM and seeing what you get from that. Just a thought, why are you so sure the CPU temps are wrong? It's possible that the 57 degs is correct, especially if you don't have much airflow through the case.

MBM says my 2500XP running at 3200XP is running at 39° idle.

have you tried tahing the hsf off and cleaning it and the chip and reapplying some fresh silver grease, the hsf might not be sitting flush!
I had the same problem (temp too high) and did this and all's fine now.

Just a thought!!!!!
