Is there any point in me buying one for the WD 200GB thats on it way

Since I'll be contantly using it for playing audio & video should I invest in a £20 HDD Cooler to make it run faster and keep it in better condition , I really cant see it making much of a difference though

What are your opinions ?

Much appreciated, Steven McL

Id not bother to start with. If you think the drive is running hot then buy one later. If you dont need it all you'll do is make your pc noisier.

They dont do jack.

Personally i think better airflow in your case would be better.

I have an 80m fan blowing over my two hdd's and they are cold to the touch.

I think they are just gimmicks unless you have a very hot case or a case with little airflow. As ricky says, if they do need cooling just direct an 80mm over them or position them behind your existing intake fans.

well no suprise there , i was kinda expecting people to say they dont do jack

i've got a CM201 so will mount the HDD directly behind the 2 intake 80mm fans , which should keep it cool :)

cheers for the advice guys :)

My Western digi's get warm but cooling them wont make them run faster, it will only prolong the life of them abit.
