why are p4 crap with the 03 benchmark?

I get 6,800 with my P4 at stock speeds. I didn't realise that was crap.

03 is very dependent on video card, rest of system doesn't make much difference.
Put a crap vga card on a really powerful system & you will get worse results than a crap processor with a high end vga card.

That's true with 2001SE as well, the graphics card has the greatest influence by a mile!

and he gets about 6800'ish and yes thats is crap for the speed of the cpu. I know that it totaly uses the vga but if thats true how come my pc gets over 7000 very easly?

But nothing like as much as in 2k3.
You could put a 9800 pro on a PII & you would still get 6,000 ish in 2K3, maybe losing 10%.
In 2K1 you would lose a lot more than 10%.

what am i doing wrong if a pII can get more than 6000 with a rad 9800

i have a 9800 and dont get anymore than 5500 ?

There are all sorts of ways to play with settings to get higher scores. Your games would look crap if you played them with those settings though so it is all a bit unrealistic.

Driver versions - there can be differences of several hundred points between versions.

Clockspeeds for core & mem can be increased.

1. 166 fsb sucks ass try to get it over 200
2. core clock at 398 cool it more and get it close to 500 or over
3. mem clock 351 just clock it higher

You need to cool your computer alot cool everything you should hit 7000 no probs

just waitin on my 3 ghz 800mhz fsb p4 ariving soo it shud go up a bit lol :D am in a thermaltake xaser 111 aluminium with 7 fans its coool so al clock my herc 9800 pro later and see what i get :D

whats best drivers u reckon lads ?

i'm using 3.7 but 3.10 has just come out so you could try them. I've not got much time to test them this weekend i'm fitting some flex in the machine. Please could someone post a review on the 3.10 drivers

my machine has blown a 2.8 @ 3.6 gig p4 away in 3dmark03 he was running 128meg more on his grapahics card aswell.

Yeah - you should of kept the soft mod 9500 you sold as that was far faster!

No stock P4 and R9800 Pro combo scores 6800... Looking at your specs, 5600 is more realistic.

3dmark03 is GPU limited, a faster CPU will not make much difference to your score. e.g. 3dmark03 difference between a 2400+ and 3200+ could be as little as 200 points.
