i hope this questyion is relevant to this part of the forums...

i have Ntl BB 600 and with that i get 55MB of free webspace... now i'v created a WYSIWTG website in front page (a VERY basic one, with a few galleries) but the "help" part of the NTL website is very vague as to how im meant to actually utilise my webspace.

if anyone could please give me some direction it would be very gratefuly received!

also if anyone could recommend any other WYSIWYG site creators.

basically, all i want to do is have a small site that has a bit about my self, some photos of my family and holidays and stuff, and possibly an upload for my CV.

i already have 4 galleries (me & G/f, Family, Holidays etc) created in Photoshop 7 using the "automate/webgallery" function, all i need is some ideas/advise on how to tie them all up and get them to my webspace!

a big thankyou in anticipation of help! :)

You need to upload the files in to your webspace using a program like FTPx (http://www.ftpx.com/). You'll need a few basic bits of info from your ISP to set it up.

login : username
password : your pass

Get those bits of information, then download and install an FTP client like Forth said (http://www.smartftp.com is an excellent free one) and connect to

ftp://username@upload.ntlworld.com/docs/

.. using your username and password.

That should work. You can then view your website using

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/username

As for WYSIWYG editors, Frontpage is the most user-friendly, but Macromedia Dreamweaver is more powerful (and much more expensive). If you really want to, you could learn XHTML and write it yourself :D

There are a few options on how to upload to your own NTL/Virgin Media and telewest Bluyonder webspace as well as how to reset the password too.

Click here to go to the site (http://www.jackiestewart.co.uk/files/ntl.htm)

Hope this helps.

Whoa! I'm sure this help would be appreciated, were it not for the fact that this question was posted three years ago!

Welcome to the forums, by the way. :D

True (lol) I wonder if he did work it out. I never noticed the date but I dare say if he had the problems i did trying to get NTL to sort the password problem and change of username then he will still be trying to this day. Anyway thanks for the welcome.
