Hello, I am after a simple to use Blog, all it need to have is admin section and password protection so ppl cant access it, if you know of any sites or have your own source code you could lend (it is for personal use) I would be very thankful

I am runnig a Linux redhat server with all the gubbins php sql etc, thanks for the link I will give it a go :)

Movable Type is nice but (IMO) tricker to set up than it needs to be. I like WordPress (http://wordpress.org), personally: based on PHP and MySQL and very little hassle to get working.

Ordinarily I'd recommend you look at BlogComp (http://www.urldir.com/bt/) in order to choose, but it seems to be offline pending a relaunch.
