Anyone else getting problems with NTL? I for one can't access about 90% of the Internet. Is this a dns problem or something? I can access this site and some others, but most such as www.google.com and stuff won't load. :(

from NTL

ntl:home internet customers on all packages may currently experience difficulties using the service due to a DNS server outage. This is likely to affect all internet services (browsing, email, FTP) for customers in some regions, and access to certain websites and servers in other regions. Our engineers are aware of this issue and are working to resolve it as soon as possible. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

You guys should know by now: NTL simply cannot do DNS! In all the years I've been with them my reverse DNS on my dialup has never worked. Outages like this are pretty common for one of the UK's largest ISPs....

I think its the first time it's happened to me.

Of course, I've been plauged by random disconnects, slow browsing and slow upload speeds. But meh.

Everything seems to be working fine now though. :D. Good ol' NTL. Get there in the end.

I have been fine except I lost web access for 3 hours last night, MSN and email worked fine though.

just cancelled my entire account web/tv/telephone

had a 1 meg connection, was slow 30% of the time

if you tell the pc to root through another dns server it works fine... well i think thats what i did :)

Ive been with NTL for 21 months and ive not had any major issues with them apart from the odd short downtime but was always back up and running when they said it would be. Im getting better speeds than i should be on the 600k connection and soon to upgrade to the 1mb connection.

i had a 6 day spell of being able to access just about every other website EXCEPT kustom(!) thorugh my NTLBB, that was totally pants, and was one of the very few times when i was glad to be at work using BT!!!!

other than that, in the 9 months iv been with them all things have been great, i couldnt ask for more for £24/month.

NTL have there problems, but take a look at BT, nuff said, they'd been the no.1 provider for telecoms for how many years before it was de-privatised (is that the word) and what do they offer.....

hmmm, i'm happy with NTL, altho the NTHELL site has mioxed opinions ;)

Same here. I lost all sites except for here last night and even it crawled to a halt. I tried changing to other proxy servers on the list on NTLhell.com but it made no difference.
Unusually, e-mail continued to function - that's usually the first to go!
I've been with NTL for 15 months and problems are becoming more frequent now. In my early days, I had no problems at all with them.

Not with the price going back to £50 :) You can get 2mbit ADSL for that.

Aint heared anything about price changes.

I know that some people are still being routed through newyork who are with NTL, thats funny. :D
